This was an automated weather alert system notification due to inclement weather. Legitimate call.

The caller ID showed that it was CenterPoint Energy. I knew that it was probably a scam BUT answered it anyway. Sure enough, a pre-recorded voice said that my "electricity was scheduled to be cut off in 30 minutes" and to avoid this "press 1 to speak to a representative". I am on automatic pay to my electric and gas company. Just to be sure, I checked my CenterPoint account and all is well. I do not know what type of scam they are trying to pull as I hung up on them.

Pretended to be a husband of some lady that had a vacuum for sale and then gave me a really shady story with a shady address of where to meet him almost an hour further than the distance I was already going. That meant I wasted 4 hours driving. Don’t purchase. Save yourself the time.

The call did not leave a message, upon using the *67 feature and calling the number back the automated message said “press 1 to continue” no keypad selection was pressed a few seconds passed and the call disconnected.

Asked who homeboy was, said he just needed to confirm my address. I told him I moved from there a while back but he was sendoing someone anyway. I told him they were a B.S. scam operation and they could F.O.! He ***g up.
